On March 6th, 2023, at 2:30 PM EST (12:30 PM MST), the Utah International Mountain Forum (UIMF), a coalition of student clubs at Utah Valley University (UVU)  will participate in a parallel event as part of the 67th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW67).  UVU Students, faculty, and other UIMF members and friends will speak on the theme “Empowering Mountain Women Through Inclusive Student Engaged Learning Initiative”.

As this is a parallel event, students will be involved both in person at the United Nations (UN) in New York City, and digitally from Utah. A list of participants can be found on the poster attached to this announcement.

The Student Engaged Learning Model (SEL), the object of these speeches, is an educational model that empowers traditional and non-traditional students to work together as a group to solve real-world problems with faculty serving as mentors.

We invite all who can to watch the event. The event will be livestreamed at UIMF YouTube
