Other Funding Resources

Beyond the resources available through Undergraduate Research and Creative Works, there are other ways for faculty to start or expand their research, as well as improve their curriculums. Here are some of those resources:

College of Science Scholarly Activities Committee (SAC)

SAC provides funding for faculty research. Faculty may apply for funding in the spring of each year, typically in February.

Office of Teaching and Learning Faculty Travel Grant

Full-time faculty travel funds in departments may be supplemented with a Faculty Travel grant. The purpose of this fund is to assist faculty with professional travel, particularly related to enhancing instructional effectiveness and Scholarship of Teaching and Engagement. Depending on available funds, adjunct faculty may also apply for travel support.

Office of Teaching and Learning Course Design Support

The Office of Teaching and Learning offers dedicated support for the design, redesign, and continuous development of courses and full programs, regardless of the mode of delivery.

ELLA

The College of Humanities & Social Sciences encourages engaged learning for our students. Engaged Learning in the Liberal Arts (ELLA) grants are intended to provide support for a broad range of student-centered, engaged-learning projects.

Fulbright-Hays Faculty Research Abroad Fellowship Program

This program is designed to contribute to the development and improvement of modern foreign language and area studies in the U.S. by providing opportunities for scholars to conduct research abroad.

SCULPT

The Scholarly & Creative Undergraduate Learning Partnership Team (SCULPT) has limited funding available to offer small monetary amounts (up to $300*) to assist in implementing research-based, inquiry-based or creative activities inside and outside the classroom.

CRFS

CRFS supports and provides funding for UVU faculty, staff and mentored students to carry out investigations in natural and cultural history, place-based learning, and other scholarly and creative activities that explore the Colorado Plateau and are consistent with the CRFS mission.
