We foster an inclusive environment for wolverines to access food, housing, health and safety.
To remove barriers and create a place of belonging for all wolverines.
Basic Needs
Students lacking food, housing, safety and health resources necessary for continued sustainability and success are deemed basic-needs insecure.
Food Insecurity
An inability to access and/or afford food, specifically culturally appropriate and nutritious food. This can include an uncertainty of where their next meal is coming from and a lack of education on cooking nutrient-dense meals.
Housing Insecurity
While housing insecurity is typically seen as someone who sleeps in a shelter or on the streets, it can also include individuals who are struggling to pay rent and/or utilities, need to move frequently, those who are couch surfing, temporarily staying with family or friends, sleeping in their car, camping, or sharing housing that is overcapacity. It is an uncertainty of where a person and their belongings will be staying or for how long.
