With music, food, games, and prizes, these are fun ways to learn more about the Center and connect with like-minded peers. Impact Fellows are on hand to socialize and answer questions.

UVU Center for Social Impact Clothesline Project

Clothesline Project

October 22-23, 2024

The Clothesline Project is a powerful visual exhibit made up of t-shirts bearing the stories and experiences of survivors of domestic and sexual violence, and those who have known those who have suffered. Participants can create their own shirts if desired and pay tribute by reading the lived experiences displayed throughout the exhibit.

Coordinated by the Impact Fellows, the exhibit invites engagement from community members and policymakers to raise awareness and promote meaningful action. During the two-day display, a resource fair will also be held with on and off-campus partners to provide guidance and support for those who might be suffering.

Scarcity Myth Exhibit

Scarcity Myth

February 26-27, 2025

The Scarcity Myth is an interactive exhibit designed to challenge the belief that food and housing insecurity stem from a lack of resources. Instead, it highlights the issue of inequitable distribution. Through visual data displays, a showcase of local lived experience, and hands-on activities, participants are encouraged to think creatively about how society can ensure access to basic needs.

During the two-day display, a resource fair will also be held with on and off-campus partners to provide guidance and support for those who might be suffering

MLK Commemoration Exhibit

MLK Commemoration Exhibit

January 22-23, 2025

Each year, the Center for Social Impact collaborates with the UVU Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration Committee to create a visual exhibit focused on Black American heritage. Past exhibits have explored themes such as Afrofuturism, Black Literature, and Women in the Civil Rights Movement. These exhibits serve as the backdrop for the annual MLK Commemoration event, offering a powerful learning experience that celebrates Black history, culture, and the ongoing pursuit of justice.

Map the System Presentation

Map the System & Design for Impact

The UVU Center for Social Impact hosts two exciting research competitions, Oxford Map the System in the fall and Design for Impact in the spring, that challenge students to tackle social issues using systems thinking and design thinking approaches. Both programs include a month-long required weekly workshop series, followed by public presentations that are evaluated by expert judges who then select winning teams.
