Using design thinking and other relevant strategies, this certificate will provide you with knowledge, skills, and experiences in a wide range of professional, volunteer, and public settings. Students from any major or minor can complete this certificate!

Certificate Process

UVU Seal

  1. No application required for acceptance into the certificate program!
  2. Start by enrolling in SLSS 1200 or 120H: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (or the next course on the list).  Note: 120H is available to any interested student!
  3. Finish the certificate in 2 or more semesters at your own pace.

Graduation Requirements

  1. Complete 16 credits of course work (see 5 leadership certificate courses above). 
  2. Earn a minimum 2.5 GPA in all certificate course work with no grades lower than a C-.
  3. Residency hours - minimum of 4 credits required through course attendance at UVU.
  4. Apply for graduation with the leadership certificate after you've completed steps 1-3.  Note: You may apply to graduate with the leadership certificate once you’ve completed all the requirements, but no later than when you apply for graduation with your degree.
