Recently UVU installed filtered drinking fountains that have a special spout for filling water bottles. There fountains display the number of plastic bottles that have been saved by using refillable bottles. Within the first few weeks these fountains have already saved almost 10,000 plastic bottles!
For years now UVU has auctioned off slightly used to the community. This extends the useful life of the items and keeps them out of landfills.
As part of the presidential initiatives on campus, sustainability and recycling are a high priority on campus.
