Engaging in Public Health

There are many opportunities to participate in an engaged learning project in our department.  Listed below are a few of the organizations we work with in public health.

  Safe Kids Coalition

Safe Kids Worldwide is a nonprofit organization working to help families and communities keep kids safe from injuries. Most people are surprised to learn preventable injuries are the #1 killer of kids in the United States. Throughout the world, almost one million children die of an injury each year, and almost every one of these tragedies is preventable.

 Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

Every year over 60 student volunteers help run the JDRF One Walk event in Provo. This event is focused on helping to find a cure for type one diabetes. Whether you donate your time or dollars, life-changing breakthroughs in T1D treatments and therapies couldn't happen without you
