Steps to follow if you receive a bomb threat:

TURN OFF ALL CELL PHONES AND TWO WAY RADIOS

WHILE THE CALLER IS ON THE PHONE:

1. Remain calm.
2. Keep the caller on the phone as long as possible.
3. Get the attention of a co-worker if possible and have them use another phone to call 911 or Campus Police at ext. 5555.
4. Write out the callers message in its entirety as accurately as possible.
5. Get as much information as you can and fill out the threat card as completely and accurately as possible.
