Business Ethics Pioneers Project

Since the early 1970s, scholars and corporate leaders have expanded the intellectual and practical horizons of business ethics. To preserve their legacies, a team of experts have created a video history of this field called Business Ethics Pioneers. The video collection includes interviews with over fifty pioneers. It explores the evolution of business ethics, highlighting visionaries and best practices. Each interview is available in full and has also been edited into an accessible, short-form educational resource. In an effort to promote ethical awareness from classrooms to boardrooms, these resources are offered free to the public.

This project is designed and organized by a team including Joan Elise Dubinsky, former United Nations Ethics Officer and Fellow of the Center for Professional Responsibility in Business and Society; Elaine E. Englehardt, Distinguished Professor of Ethics at Utah Valley University; Patricia Werhane, Professor Emerita at the University of Virginia and DePaul University and Emmy-award winning documentary producer; and Gretchen A. Winter, Clinical Assistant Professor of Business Administration at the University of Illinois. Short videos of many of the pioneers have been edited and produced for use in the classroom and in company training sessions with the help of Professor Englehardt’s students at Utah Valley University and the University of Illinois editing team: Shaun Mills, Adam Cook, Lucas Orton, and Jesse Pierce. Special thanks to the Gies College of Business Center for Professional Responsibility in Business and Society and to Utah Valley University for their support.
