This unique and customizable program helps you build essential skills for student success, paving the way for future academic success as you progress through your chosen degree program. You’ll also gain valuable hands-on experience that supports the development of key soft skills like teamwork and communication, which are highly valued by employers. Plus, completing this certificate can contribute toward the partial fulfillment of an additional certificate and associate degree.

What You'll Learn

Upon completion, you’ll be better prepared for future success in school and work by gaining:

  • Foundational academic skills that lead to increased student success in future courses and programs
  • Foundational career-enhancing soft skills (character traits and interpersonal skills that characterize relationships with other people and complement hard skills in the workplace).

WHAT’S THE VALUE OF A CERTIFICATE?

Designed for faster skill acquisition, UVU's certificate programs are a great option for individuals seeking to enhance their careers without the larger time and financial commitments of a traditional college degree. Whether you’re supplementing a bachelor’s degree with specialized expertise or just starting your career journey, our certificates offer an efficient pathway to expanded career opportunities.

Ranging from 16 to 33 credits, certificates can be completed within 2 to 5 semesters. UVU's certificates are often "stackable" as well—credits earned count toward the next degree, usually an associate or bachelors. This approach not only accelerates your entry into the workforce but also facilitates ongoing career advancement as you continue to work. A completed certificate is a building block for your career growth, while streamlining the journey to your ultimate educational goals.
