Program Introduction

Study topics include family law, parenting, marriage, human development, family life education, human sexuality, and more. Students often secure internships, gaining practical work experience and exposure to graduate school environments while teaching valuable family life skills within the community.

• Strengthening Families: The Family Science Program at UVU is affiliated with the National Council on Family Relations, a non-profit dedicated to understanding and strengthening families through research, scholarship, outreach, and policy. Students can join as student members.
• Diverse Career Opportunities: Graduates are prepared for diverse careers in social work, counseling, healthcare, advocacy & non-profits. Graduates also have the foundation for pursuing advanced graduate studies.
• Hands-On Experience: Through internships, students can gain practical experience in the field while contributing to the community by teaching family life skills.
