Utah Valley University will present the largest Latin dance event in the state of Utah on Friday, Oct. 5. The 10thannual Bachata Fest dance will be from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. in the UCCU Center, on UVU’s campus.

Reyes has received three Casandra Awards, which are the highest-ranked Dominican music awards.

Bachata music originated in the Dominican Republic in the early 20thcentury and is internationally known.

Grupo Extra has been honored for advancing the Latin culture through music.

Proceeds from the event will go toward UVU student scholarships. The first 1,000 ticket purchases will be at $15; after those are sold, the price increases to $20. There is also a VIP ticket package that includes light refreshments and a meeting with the artists. That option is $100 per person.
