Fight the New Drug co-founder to visit UVU

UVUSA Speaker Clay OlsenUtah Valley University’s Student Association (UVUSA) welcomes Clay Olsen as part of their Senate Speaker Series on Thursday, March 8 at noon in UVU’s Sorensen Student Center Grande Ballroom to educate students on the realities of pornography and what got him started as an activist.

Olsen left his position at a growing company to co-found a new non-profit organization, Fight the New Drug, to highlight and inform youth about the effects of pornography. Clay has visited the students of over 400 schools to present and bring awareness to his cause.

“I definitely realize this is a controversial topic and part of the reason we’re bringing Clay is so that opinions can be shared and gathered on the subject,” said Amy Cope, senator of the College of Humanitites and Social Sciences for UVUSA. “I think it is important for us as a campus to respect each other’s opinions, even though they might be different but still take a stand on what we believe in.”

Since starting Fight the New Drug, the organization has been featured on ABC Nightline, ABC News, NPR, Al-Jazeera, CNN, The Dr. Drew Show, and more.
