Developing countries to receive hygiene kits from UVU

Utah Valley University’s Women Success Center, in partnership with Days for Girls, will celebrate International Women’s Day by preparing sustainable feminine hygiene kits on Monday, March 5 in UVU’s Grande Ballroom, room SC-105, at 10 and 11 a.m., and noon.

The public and students are invited to register on Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/uvu-days-for-girls-service-project-registration-42647216974?aff=es2 to ensure their spot. Students are welcome to check if there is a spot for them without registering, but a spot is not guaranteed.

The founder and CEO of Days for Girls, Celeste Mergens, will be in attendance to engage with students about how just one person can start a movement that can make a difference.

“UVU aims to prepare students to be stewards in a globally interdependent community,” said Jolene Merica, assistant director of UVU’s Women’s Success Center. “This opportunity to be part of the solution to a real-world problem can help us see how interconnected we really are.”

Days for Girls is a non-profit organization that aims to bring health, safety, and menstrual hygiene to girls everywhere. These feminine hygiene kits empower girls in developing countries all around the world to attend school during their menstrual cycle by providing appropriate products and sanitation options.

They offer many services including: support, advocacy, individual success coaching, scholarship assistance, leadership opportunities and more. The Women's Success Center is dedicated to helping women see themselves as confident and capable of achieving their educational goals.
