Utah Valley University Hosts Polynesian Leadership Summit

Polystrong, a non-profit organization, will host an inaugural leadership summit and summer charity games August 10-11 at UVU. Polystrong was recently created to serve current and future generations of Pacific Islanders through leadership and mentoring.

The summit begins with panel discussions and breakout engagement sessions featuring high profile professionals of Polynesian descent including: four-time Olympian Logan Todd from Highland, Utah, and Vai Sikahema, a past NFL player for the Philadelphia Eagles and current co-anchor for NBC10 News Today. Also presenting are Ana Fonua-Terrazas, a global merchandiser for JC Penney, and Faith Tusieseina, a UVU communication graduate and the manager of new business at Universal Music Group.

“The goal of Polystrong.org is to show the next generation of Polynesians areas in which they can have worldwide influence, and this isn’t just in sports,” said Frank Tunieseina, founder of the organization. “Many of the speakers participating are known for business acumen, careers in tech, and higher education.”

The event also includes a rugby clinic for ages 12-18. It is being conducted by Utah Warrior Head Coach Alf Daniels and his team. It is being held in partnership with Utah Youth Rugby.

The Polystrong Leadership Summit is open to all who are interested. Register online at https://www.polystrong.org/register. The event begins Friday at 9:00 a.m. in the Clarke Building on UVU campus.
