Utah Valley University (UVU) President Astrid S. Tuminez addressed university students, faculty, and staff Wednesday in the Vallejo Auditorium for an in-person “Talk with Tuminez” town hall meeting.

Hundreds gathered to hear President Tuminez discuss the university’s recent achievements, including the Awards of Excellence recipients, university conferences, the upcoming commencement celebration for 11,064 graduates this spring, and the wins from the 2022 Utah legislative session, including the compensation increases. She also welcomed the new members of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team.

Linda Makin, UVU vice president of Planning, Budget, and Finance, joined President Tuminez to outline the parameters pertaining to compensation increases for all students, faculty, and staff. An email outlining the 2021-2022 Salary and Wages Increases can be found within myUVU.

“I've been doing this a long time,” Makin said. “And I don't remember a year like this. As we invest in our employees, we know that we're investing in our student’s success. President, it was a great year.”
