Utah Valley University (UVU) has been designated a Silver-tier Military Friendly School by Military Friendly, an organization that measures a school or company’s commitment, effort, and success in creating sustainable and meaningful opportunities for the military community.

Military Friendly uses public data sources, proprietary data acquired by conducting surveys, and personal data from veteran surveys to measure across categories, including academic policies and compliance, admissions and orientation, culture and commitment, financial aid and assistance, graduation and career, and military student support and retention.

According to Military Friendly’s methodology, UVU earned a Silver rating and is ranked in the top 50 in the nation in the large public university category. UVU also earned Military Spouse Friendly status.

“On behalf of UVU, the Veteran Success Center team is thrilled to receive the 2024-25 Silver Military Friendly® School designation for large public universities,” said Kayle Smith, director of UVU’s Veteran Success Center. “This recognition reflects many hours invested by our team and other UVU partners to create an exceptional experience for our military-connected students.”

“An exceptional experience, to us, means that students want to come to UVU, stay here, complete their education goals, and ultimately transition to gainful employment in a field that they enjoy, without unnecessary or unreasonable financial burden. This Military Friendly® School designation represents our progress in these areas, and we look forward to taking additional strides to advance the UVU military-connected experience.”
