Congressman John R. Curtis and Other Leaders to Speak at 3rd Annual Growth and Prosperity Summit

The Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce and Utah Valley University (UVU) are excited to announce the 3rd Annual Growth and Prosperity Summit (GPS) on November 2, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sorensen Student Center on UVU’s Orem Campus.

   

OREM, UT - The Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce and Utah Valley University (UVU) are excited to announce the 3rd Annual Growth and Prosperity Summit (GPS) on November 2, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sorensen Student Center on UVU’s Orem Campus.

Over 400 attendees are expected to join leaders and stakeholders from corporate, government, education, and non-profit organizations to learn about and discuss the many issues facing cities and citizens in Utah County.

Speakers and panelists will address Utah’s explosive population growth and how it will affect transportation, education, air quality, infrastructure, workforce development, healthcare, water, business, and economic development.

“Utah Valley is expected to see tremendous growth in the coming decades, and we need the right leaders and information to guide us there,” said Rep. Curtis. “I am thrilled to join the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce at its third annual Growth & Prosperity Summit and help our community meet our critical needs now and into the future.”

The event features 12 experts, including U.S. Representative John R. Curtis, Utah Third Congressional District; Astrid S. Tuminez, president of Utah Valley University; Laura Hanson, state planning coordinator at the Governor’s Office of Planning & Budget; Jay Fox, executive director, Utah Transit Authority; Jim Evans, commissioner, Utah Department of Transportation; Carolyn Lundberg, mayor, Lindon, City; LaNiece Davenport, planning & policy director, Mountainland Association of Governments; Shawn Teigen, president, Utah Foundation; and business and statistical academic leaders from Brigham Young University and Utah Valley University.

“We have worked hard to bring together such a diverse group of leaders and stakeholders to discuss and take action on the critical issues facing our community,” said Curtis Blair, president and CEO of the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce. “The summit is an opportunity to create a shared vision for the future of Utah Valley and to work together to achieve it.”

Summit organizers hope to create an open-minded, cohesive dialog for sharing ideas and strategies for managing the future of Utah valley. It will bring together community and state leadership and the business sector to examine current and emerging issues.
