Supply chain issues created by the global pandemic are impacting the progress of the Sorensen Student Center.

In the most recent monthly construction report, Big-D Construction included the following statement: 

“There are a few items that are impacting the completion date due to the supply chain issues that we have been seeing across the construction industry. The team is working to minimize these delays and pushing to complete [construction] as quickly as possible. We would like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of all the parties involved that keep this project moving forward.”

Big-D Construction has updated its completion timeline of renovations and additions to the Sorensen Student Center (SC) for the rest of this year. 

• UCCU and West Concourse (by UVU Campus Store) to be completed by July 14
• UVU Campus Store and SC Scoops to be completed by July 8
• Administration and Student Health Services Plaza addition to be completed by July 9
• Concourse (first level by Center Stage and Campus Connection) to be completed by July 14
• VP of Student Affairs Suite to be completed by August 9
• Food Courts (first and second levels) to be completed by August 23
• Commissary Kitchen to be completed by November 1
• Concourse (first and second levels by Food Courts) and Courtyard to be completed by November 18
• Ragan Theater and Center Stage to be completed by December 14
• Center for Social Impact and Student Health Services interior to be completed by December 15
