Utah Valley University has partnered with College Pads, an off-campus student resource, in order to improve student outcomes by helping current and future UVU students navigate their search for off-campus housing.
College Pads will provide UVU students, faculty, and staff with an educational tool to help them prepare to review leases, compare off-campus housing options, rent from high-rated landlords, find roommates, and sublet their existing units.
“The College Pads platform helps students make safe, informed renting decisions because all of the verified housing options are in one place,” said College Pads CEO Dominic Anzalone. “Looking for housing used to be such a chore with driving around and writing down phone numbers. Now all the listings are in one spot that students can trust.”
“The UVU Housing Office is excited to partner with College Pads to continue to provide UVU students, faculty, and staff with a safe option to look for off-campus housing and roommates,” said Matthew Robins, coordinator of Off-Campus Housing and Residence Life at UVU. “This partnership will also give local landlords and property managers more support in posting their properties for rent, and help connect UVU students with their search and understanding of the off-campus housing market.”
The platform features a colorful map of the area surrounding campus where students can see an overhead view of all properties. Adjacent to the map is a set of filters to narrow down results to a specific selection including walk times to campus and other helpful features. Custom-tailored to the needs of student renters, the College Pads platform features a roommate and sublease finder. Both options require you to enter your student ID credentials, providing safety and peace of mind to students that future roommates or sublessors are fellow peers.
College Pads is thrilled to serve the Utah Valley University community through this partnership and is looking forward to further expanding its reach to enhance student success across the state and the region, the company said.
Listings on the site are purchased by landlords whose listings are created by College Pads staff, improving overall listing quality. Landlords noncompliant with university policy are promptly removed from the site creating a trusted, one-stop-shop for all things off-campus housing. On June 30, 2020, all customers will be invited to take part in the Virtual Housing Fair. College Pads is the fastest-growing company in off-campus housing and is used at many other institutions across the country, including Washington State University, the University of Missouri, and Colorado State University.
