Multicultural Student Services values interactions among individuals with varying traditions, cultures, identities, genders, expressions, orientations, ages, abilities, religious beliefs, economic backgrounds, and racial/ethnic origins. All MSC students receive UVU tuition waiver for successful Multicultural Student Council participation and completion. Depending on position type, tuition waivers may cover up to the full cost of in-state tuition. Scholarship amounts can vary with each semester and depend upon fund availability.
MSC scholarships cannot be deferred for future semesters and can only be appealed once.

Diversity Dialogues are operated by the Engagement branch of the council and are held
once a month. The purpose of the dialogues is to bring unknown or unpopular topics
to awareness for both faculty and staff on campus.

Service opportunities are available multiple times each semester to provide support
on campus and in the community.
MSC members will be able to plan and implement meaningful programs and events while also enhancing their interpersonal and leadership skills, whether you are part of the executive leadership team or contribute to a specific aspect of the council’s operations.
MSC President(s)
The MSC President(s) provide leadership and direction to the club organization. They preside at meetings and oversee activities of the executive committee. Additionally, the President(s)’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Vice President of Communications
The Vice President (VP) of Communications reports to the President(s) and Department Head(s) and serves as an integral member of the executive management team by coordinating committees and programs and developing the MSC communication strategy. Additionally, the VP of Communications’ responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Vice President of Engagement
The VP of Engagement reports to the President(s) and Department Head(s). They have great relationship-building skills, a knack for leading, and sales skills that help engage others in common goals. The VP of Engagement develops strategies for the council’s engagement efforts, programs, and projects. Additionally, the VP of Engagement’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
The VP of Outreach reports to the President(s) and Department Head(s) and develops active partnerships with community leaders and service groups. They identify the needs of the community, minority groups, and underrepresented populations and determine how the council can make a contribution or an impact. Additionally, the VP of Outreach’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
The Department Head(s) oversee all aspects of the council and provide direction to the executive leadership team. They develop best practices to achieve council goals and ensure that all members follow university and council policies and procedures.
