Admissions Criteria + Online Application + Interview + Final Decision

Learn about the admissions criteria you need to meet before applying, what information you will need to submit a successful application, how to prepare for the interview, and how you will be notified of the final decision. Once you apply, you will have an interview with the MFPA committee.

Pay application fees

After you have registered within the application system and completed the application form, you will need to pay the application fee.

ADMISSIONS CRITERIA

After you have submitted the application fee, the application system will ask you to attach various supplemental items. All applicants are required to provide the following items:

    • Official academic transcripts
    • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher based on a 4.0 scale
      alternatively, we will accept a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher based on the last 60 earned credits

More Transcript Information

For transcripts to be considered official, they must be submitted to UVU’s Admissions Office directly from a college or university to the following email address or to the following mailing address.  International transcripts must be evaluated by an approved foreign credential evaluating company. UVU's preferred evaluating company is SpanTran.  See list of UVU approved  International Transcript companies.

No other delivery format will be accepted as official. Those that have a degree from UVU can have their transcripts uploaded to their application by MFPA Staff. Transcripts uploaded in this manner will also be considered official.

    • Professional resume or CV
      highlight the most relevant professional experiences
    • Mandatory essay
      pdf format with a minimum of 500 words per essay

Essay Prompt

Essay Prompt: What are your career goals, and how does completing the MFPA fit into those goals?

Optional Essay Prompt: Is there anything you would like to tell the admissions committee about your application or your qualifications?

    • Two professional letters of recommendation
      you may submit one academic reference in place of your second professional reference

The MFPA program utilizes a rolling admission process. Rolling admission means the students will be notified of a decision within a few weeks of completing and submitting the entire application. This process also means that admission is granted to those that apply first, assuming qualifications are met.

 

PREREQUISITE COURSES

No pre-application prerequisites required. Students without experience or undergraduate business education may be subject to prerequisite courses.  Talk to an advisor  for more information.

 

 

 

IMportant dates

Based on when you wish to attend, submit your online application by one of the deadlines listed below. Please note, applications cannot be submitted after the final deadline date. It is always best to apply early. 

Fall Application Dates:

    • Application Opens: August 1st
    • Priority Deadline: March 1st
    • Domestic Final Deadline: July 15th

Spring Application Dates:

    • Application Opens: April 1st
    • Priority Deadline: October 1st
    • Final Deadline: November 15th

 

Interview preparation

We recommend that you prepare for this interview as you would for a professional job interview. Be ready to provide more information about aspects of your application and demonstrate your understanding of UVU’s MFPA program. Successful candidates will also be able to speak to their background, aspirations, interests, and how the MFPA program fits their plans and life goals.

Final Decision

What to expect once you have completed your online application and your interview

Once all interviews have been conducted, each candidate will be notified of the committee’s final decision. If you have received an offer of acceptance, you will need to confirm your acceptance with the MFPA Office in order to hold your place in the program. This can be done by responding to the offer email or calling the MFPA office.
