This is a collection of oral history interviews done with long-time residents of the areas that are now near or part of Capitol Reef National Park and, particularly, the UVU Capitol Reef Field Station, which is within the Park in south-central Utah.

Utah Peace Activist Oral History Project

The Utah Peace Activists Oral History Project collection consists of transcripts and audio of interviews with Utahns who have been active in peace and justice endeavors since World War II.  Dr. Kathryn French interviewed over 129 people in many walks of life who have devoted much of their lives to working for a better world.

Utah Women's Walk: Honoring the Women of Utah

This collection was begun by UVU American Studies instructor Michele Welch, who, along with many of her students researched prominent women in Utah, created biographies of them, and conducted oral history interviews with those still living. This collection currently contains transcripts, audio and video of most of the interviews.

Veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan Oral History Collection

This collection is comprised of interviews conducted by the George Sutherland Archives with veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, from the years between 2003 and 2011.  It focuses primarily on veterans currently living in Utah County.

The Vietnam Era Oral History Project collection contains the transcripts and video of seventeen interviews with Vietnam War-era veterans.  The interviews are conducted by Dr. William Cobb of UVU.

World War II Veterans Oral History Project

The World War II Veterans Oral History collection consists of oral history interviews done over the period 2003-2006 by students of then UVU Professor Kathren Brown as well as some conducted by the George Sutherland Archives. These collection includes the transcripts, audio, and video of the interviews of WWII veterans from Utah County and the surrounding area.
