Quantitative Risk Analyst II, M&T Bank (New York)
How has your degree from UVU helped you in your current position?
"Knowing the ins and outs of the Information System world is something that is very valuable, as the teams I've been a part of have grown and moved from different systems to different platforms."
Industry view of UVU graduates
"I don't hear much out here in New York State. However, back in Utah, I had a previous manager who knew the program because he went through it, and many other colleagues within my company and outside of my company would speak highly of it."
Advice for new students
"You'll get out of it what you put into it. So be the person who takes the initiative to get things done, and done to a higher standard than just the "minimum requirements". Don't forget that if your name is on it, people are judging you, and not just objectively judging your work/paper. That's true in every role I've held in both the start-up world, as well as here at a publicly traded banking company."
