How has your degree from UVU helped you in your current position?

"UVU provided me with the skill-set required to solve the myriad of technical and non-technical problems I face on a daily basis. I have been enabled to look at the big picture and come up with systematic improvements, not just quick fixes."

Industry view of UVU graduates

"At our company we have a lot of respect for UVU graduates. Our new hires out of UVU come equipped with not only a sound understanding of theories, but also experience putting theory to practice."

Advice for new students

"Get as much real experience in the field as you possibly can while going to school. Experience can be gained by anything from internships to formal employment. You should also be gaining an understanding of, and experience in, some of the supporting tools, technologies, and processes that you’ll be expected to use in the future. For example, learn about continuous integration, version control, test automation, and agile development. Experiment with the latest and greatest technologies and tools. We’re in an ever-evolving industry, so be ready and eager for the changes."
