ENGAGED LEARNING EXPERIENCE AT EBAY

At eBay I was able to take training from the classroom and apply it in a data analysis project that had significant global implications.

Utah Valley University student Koltyr Wright worked with a team of students under the mentoring of UVU Business Management faculty Dr. Bernd Kupka to assist global e-commerce giant eBay. The challenge? Partner with eBay's consumer insights team to find ways to heighten the customer service experience.

Never mind the stereotypical internship experience - Koltyr and his team dug deep into the data of customer interactions with eBay to understand pain points and derive solutions. Throughout their experience students were lead by Dr. Kupka in applying research and analysis principles. It didn't end with just data on paper. The team was tasked with taking their findings and proposing solutions to the executive teams at eBay.

The result? We can't disclose the number but because of the research conducted by Koltyr and his fellow students eBay enjoyed sizable contributions to their bottom-line as customers also received an elevated level of service. What did the students take away? A resume-worthy and real world experience that touts tangible contributions to a Fortune 500. Engaged learning enables students to graduate with a degree and a resume.
