Meet our Honors Student Ambassadors:

The Honors Ambassadors is an established committee of UVU Honors students who, along with the Steering Committee, help govern the Program. As student representatives, they act as advocates to their fellow Honors students when problems and questions arise concerning the Program itself, or from their interaction with professors, and other students. The Honors Ambassadors work directly with Honors Program Director.

Students interested in joining the Honors Ambassadors may apply each Spring term for the upcoming year.

Porter Bischoff

Porter Bischoff

Hi, I am Porter Bischoff! I am a Biotechnology major and Biology minor, and I love going to school at Utah Valley University. I am from Heber City, UT, where I am the oldest of five, and I love spending time with my family. I plan on attending medical school after my time here, and I hope to pursue a MD/PhD program at that time. I have always known that I wanted to work in medicine due to my own personal history, and my time at UVU has showed me that I have a true passion for science and research. Therefore, pursuing a MD/PhD program will allow me to do both professionally, the best of both worlds. I am a disappointed Jazz fan, and that is about all I have time to care about outside of school, work, and my family. Here on campus, I am part of the Pre-Medical Association, a research lead in Dr. Britt Wyatt and Dr. Josh Premo’s lab, and a Presidential Intern for Provost Wayne Vaught. I love being a Wolverine, and my goal is to share that love for this university with all I come in contact with. I am so excited to have a bigger role in the Honor’s Program, and I am excited to get to know as many of you as I possibly can!

I am a junior here at UVU working on my bachelor's degree in anthropology. I love learning more about the history of humanity and coming to better understand the cultures and traditions of the world. I truly enjoy school and am looking forward to beginning many of my major specific classes this fall semester. I have had the wonderful opportunity to study Spanish through my time in school as well as on my LDS mission to Georgia, US Spanish speaking. I love the language and learning to connect with others through the beautiful language. I enjoy spending time with my dogs and taking them on little trips. In my spare time I also enjoy painting and working with soft pastel chalks. I have been a member of the Honors program for a full year now and I love it! I am so stoked to be an Ambassador this semester and get to know the amazing students in the program better than I've had the chance to in the past!

Presly Truong

Presly is born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah and currently in his second year of working towards a degree in aviation and a minor in Spanish. With high aspirations to one day become an airline pilot, Presly has always had a passion for aviation. He enjoys collecting model airplanes, with a collection of over 100 jets, and spotting trips out to Salt Lake City International Airport. When he’s not working as a pharmacy technician, Presly enjoys spending his time outside and participating in activities such as hiking, tennis, volleyball, photography, and traveling. This winter, Presly is planning on hitting the slopes with the Epic pass. Presly looks forward to working with the Honors program this upcoming year. (P.S feel free to connect with him if you have an epic pass as well.)
