Lon attended the University of Utah where he earned undergraduate Bachelor of Science degrees in Marketing and Finance and his Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA). Lon was a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) with Net Worth Advisory Group. He was well known and respected for his professionalism, knowledge and client centered approach to the job that he so loved. As an expert in his field, he contributed to Utah business magazines as well as national publications like the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, USA Today, NASDAQ.com, Morningstar.com and Investment News. Lon commonly served as a guest speaker for local magazines and media and appeared as an expert on Fox News and KUTV. He had a large Twitter following and hosted his own blog, "Retire Ready", which he started in 2008. He also published his first e-book titled "Understanding Financial Terms" in 2009.
