Event Services follows UVU event policies and procedures to ensure that your event runs smoothly and successfully for all parties involved.
All events hosted on campus must follow UVU event procedures. The following policies relate to events and govern the operation of Event Services.
Donation drives are a valuable opportunity to gather a community and solve a community need. Donation drives at UVU must abide by all university policies regarding collection, structures, and promotion.
All filming done on campus, including student filming, must be coordinated through Event Services. Film crews cannot use campus spaces to film without first receiving a filming permit from an authorized employee of Event Services.
Reserving campus fields, parking lots, plazas, and other outdoor spaces must be coordinated through Event Services. These spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis to anyone wishing to schedule them according to the Freedom of Speech Policy 161.
Signage and other structures not associated with an event or tabling location require approval from Event Services. This includes donation bins, free-standing decorations, booths, buildings of any kind (including tents or other temporary dwellings) billboards, banners, large lawn signs, and similar displays.
Any external or on-campus group is welcome to table at UVU provided they follow proper procedures. Tabling requests in UVU hallways or other designated tabling locations on campus first need approval from Event Services and must comply with university policies and state fire code standards.
Any planned gathering to be held at Utah Valley University may be determined as a major event. Should an event be determined a major event, the event will require further review by the Major Events Assessment Committee (MEAC). Major events are likely classified as meeting one or more of the following criteria:
If an external event triggers any MEAC protocols, the appropriate service providers will be contacted through the assigned coordinator for the event. Event details are subject to approval from the appropriate service providers.
All priority scheduling information can be found on the employee internet page for internal processes.
