Program Details

Ever want to visit Europe's best kept secret? Choose the Faroe Islands! These tiny, secluded islands in between Iceland and Scotland offer amazing vistas and people accomplishing world-class feats in small teams with limited resources.

Retrace the steps of one of the original Viking sagas (don’t expect to see elves, trolls, and the hidden folk, but you never know!). Explore the cultural scene in downtown Torshavn. See the locations where James Bond (No Time to Die) were filmed. Visit historic and cultural sites, like the National Museum of Faroe Islands, parliamentary buildings, traditional Viking villages and churches. Experience awe-inspiring natural treasures, such as endless waterfalls, puffins, scenic hikes, boat tours, and world-class infrastructure projects, including the world's first undersea roundabout.

Engage in dialogues with local and national leaders. Meet the forward-thinking research scientists at Sev (alternative energy development) who have the ambitious goal to take their country to 100% renewable energy by 2030. Learn from legal and economic scholars designing cutting-edge strategies to move their nation boldly forward into the second half of the twenty-first century. Visit with innovators who are rapidly, transforming the technological infrastructure of their country. Meet a revolutionary maritime scientist leading discussions on resource management and climate variability. Interact with other dynamic thought leaders in religion, culture, government, and industry.

No foreign language ability is required for this program as both English and Faroese are official languages of the Faroe Islands.
