Biography
Christina Baum was appointed to be the vice president of Digital Transformation and chief information officer at Utah Valley University in June of 2022 and is the institution’s first female CIO. Baum was most recently serving as associate vice president of academic and student digital services at UVU since October of 2020.
Prior to UVU, Baum served as the chief information officer for Ensign College (formerly known as LDS Business College) where she was recognized with the Presidential Award of Excellence in 2019. Additionally, Baum worked for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ IT department, information and communication services, and many other technology and engineering companies.
She is passionate about using technology to find elegant solutions to business problems and to remove barriers for our students, faculty, and staff. As a first-generation college graduate herself, she loves the dual mission and focus of UVU.
Baum earned a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and an MBA from Washington State University. During her MBA program, Baum was recognized as the “Scholar of the Year,” and graduated with top honors, including leading her business team to win a first-place victory in an international business plan competition.
Christina and her family live in Saratoga Springs, and she is the mother of three wonderful kids - two daughters and a son. Her oldest daughter attends UVU, studying biotechnology.
Her hobbies include skiing (downhill and water), golfing, hiking, and listening to all genres of music.
