I hold a Ph.D. in Marriage, Family and Human Development from Brigham Young University and a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
I am an assistant professor here at UVU in the Marriage and Family Therapy program. I also have a small therapy practice where I see clients part time. My clinical specialty is in couples, primarily working with those navigating infidelity and the associated betrayal trauma. My dissertation focused on couple communication about pornography use. I'm currently working on a study where we are evaluating the effectiveness of figure drawing as an intervention related to body image.
I grew up on a farm in Idaho where the motto was "work hard and then play hard". I try my best to live that every day, so when I'm not working, you'll find me with my nose in a book, on a drive with my husband, going to water aerobics class, hiking a trail with my sisters or counting down the days until my next Lake Powell trip.
