Biography

Jeff began his law enforcement career at Brigham Young University, where he spent five years, primarily serving as a bike officer. In 1995, he joined the Orem Police Department, working in various roles including DARE officer, patrol officer, sex crimes detective, and patrol sergeant. After a 20-year career with Orem PD, Jeff returned to BYU Police as a lieutenant.

In 2022, Jeff joined the Utah Valley University Police Department as Deputy Chief and now serves as the department’s Police Chief. In addition to his law enforcement career, Jeff served 23 years in the Army and Air Force Reserves, including deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Utah Valley University and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Brigham Young University.
