Biography

Over 30 years of administrative and managerial experience, 8 years as Mayor of Heber City, 12 years of college Business Management teaching, 20 years of political leadership, 12 years as a business owner, and 6 years as an Army aviator in the guard.

2nd Place, National Guard Regional Biathlon at Soldier Hollow

U.S. Army National Guard Bureau

Raced as a master skier in a 12.5 km biathlon race and took 2nd in a field of 10 master skiers from several western states. Served as the liaison between the Army National Guard and Soldier Hollow.

Trained and raced with the Utah National Guard Biathlon Team in two races (12.5 km and 10 km) over two days. Our team of 3 athletes took 2nd of 9 teams. Served as one of the organizers of the event and as the liaison between the Army National Guard and Soldier Hollow.

Combat Patch

US Army - September, 2009

Army soldiers are awarded a Combat Patch after 30 consecutive days service in a combat zone.

Expert Marksman

US Air Force, US Army National Guard

Shot expert level several times while in the Air Force, and once in the Army National Guard, 1982, 1985, and 2008.

2nd Place Guard Bureau Championships Biathlon, 3 events

US Army National Guard, Ethan Allen Range, VT - February, 2007

Participated as one of a team of four soldiers in two Biathlon events at nationals for the Utah National Guard. Took second in both the 20 km Patrol Race and in the 10 km Relay, and so also took second overall. 18 states were represented with teams.

Air Force Achievement Medals (3)

US Air Force

Achievement medals are given for unusual service. I was given the first for service flying the A-10 in Europe during the Cold War (85), the second for organizing the fighter displays at the largest air show in Arizona (86), and the third for service in the 23 TASS.
