Biography

Dr. Joni Hayward Marcum is Coordinator of the UVU Writing Center and directs the Writing Fellows program. She is HEA certified through UVU's Office of Teaching and Learning in Writing Enriched Curriculum, Online Teaching, Universal Design for Learning, and Mentoring Undergraduate Research. Dr. Hayward Marcum is a multidisciplinary scholar with a background in writing studies and writing centers, literary studies, and media, cinema, and digital studies. She is an avid researcher and currently has two book chapters under review, is part of a research team studying writing tutoring as a high-impact practice, and has published scholarship in media studies. In addition to teaching experience teaching composition, literature, and media studies, she has worked as a writing program administrator, served on the Midwest Writing Centers Association board, mentored incoming graduate teaching assistants,

Dr. Hayward Marcum's research interests include AI and AI literacy education, the intersections of writing and digital literacy, and the impact of new technologies on research and information science.
