Professor Mark Abramson

Biography

Dr. Abramson is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Utah Valley University. He holds MA and PhD from Rice University in Computational and Applied Mathematics, MS degrees in Applied Mathematics and Operations Research from the Air Force Institute of Technology, MS in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the University of Washington, and a BS in Computational Mathematics from Brigham Young University.

Dr. Abramson has been at UVU since 2017. Prior to his appointment, he served for 20 years as an Air Force officer (including 6 years on the faculty of the Air Force Institute of Technology), followed by 7 years in the Boeing Applied Mathematics group in Seattle, and 2 years as a Visiting Associate Professor at BYU. His research interests include optimization and numerical analysis. He currently sings with the Tabernacle Choir on Temple Square, and has seven children and four grandchildren.
