My name is Phil Witt. I graduated from Washington State University with my PhD in Operations Management as well as an MS in Statistics in 2016. It was a long, but worthwhile road. I also have an MBA from Utah State University and a BS in Statistics from Brigham Young University.
Prior to attending WSU, I worked in industry as a Continuous Improvement Analyst in the Quality Department at WesTech Engineering in Salt Lake City, UT where I helped during the early stages of Lean implementation. I also had the opportunity to teach high school math and science at a private high school, Maple Lake Academy, in Lake Shore, UT. It was at MLA that I discovered my love of teaching.
I love working at UVU! I actually spent my first year of college here after I graduated from Provo High School. I am a first generation college graduate, and I worked at a variety of jobs throughout my high school and college experience. UVU has been a seamless fit for me.
Prior to UVU, I spent two great years as an Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. While there I really enjoyed helping build the SCM program from its infancy to one of the larger programs in the College of Business.
When not working I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, cycling, and I'm a big sports fan. College football and the NBA are the sports I most enjoy.
