Biography
As Director of Regional Pathways, Stefanie has the unique position of working as both a team member with UVU's Workforce Alignment team and as a Regional Pathway Coordinator with USHE's state pathways team.
Born out of an identified need by Governor Cox, this unique position provides much introspection into educational pathways and allows UVU and the state to really examine the educational systems in Utah. Identifying the barriers and gray areas within the educational pathways for the Mountainland Region of Utah, Stefanie has found that her previous work experience with pathways, Career Technical Education (CTE), and academic/career counseling has well prepared her for the challenges of working with one of the largest economic and educational regions in Utah. Through collaboration with the Mountainland Regions seven secondary school districts, four charter schools, MTECH, UVU, and of course industry partners, the vision is to have an educational pathway system that is seamless, easily navigated, and full of possibilities for students in the Mountainland Region and the great state of Utah.
Stefanie achieved her master's degree in counseling, with an emphasis in Higher Education, from California State University, Fresno in 2008. After staying home with her 3 small children for several years, she began working in higher education in 2011. In addition to her 3 children and 25-year marriage to her husband Chris, her passion for helping students of all ages, cultures, backgrounds, and identities has been a true joy for her. She looks forward to continuing the wonderful work being done for Utah's pathways and the future of education!
