Dr. Kodey Crandall

Biography

Kodey Crandall is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Systems and Technology in the School of Engineering and Technology. Kodey has been recognized as the College of Engineering and Technology with the CET Scholar Excellence Award (2021), UVU Faculty Senate Teaching Excellence Award (2019), and UBEA Educator of the Year (2015).

Kodey has a Ph.D. in Information Systems with an emphasis in Computer Security from Dakota State University, a M.S. in Instructional Technology from Utah State University, and a B.S. in Business Management from Utah Valley University. While in school, Kodey started a technology company with his wife, building software for government agencies, including the Utah State Board of Education and the Utah Attorney General’s Office. Kodey likes to spend his free time hiking the beautiful Utah mountains, boating at Lake Powell, and traveling around the state watching his kids participate in youth sports.

CET SCHOLAR EXCELLENCE AWARD 2021

College of Engineering & Technology

The Faculty Scholarship Excellence award is given to faculty who make ongoing efforts to contribute to their academic discipline, consistent with UVU’s role as a regional university_ “Regional universities emphasize teaching, scholarly, and creative achievements that complement teaching and community service.” (USHE Policy R312, 4.2). Scholarly contributions may include publication of discipline-related articles and textbooks and citations of the same, proposals and awards for grants, conference presentations and posters, and other creative works recognized by peers and professional societies in the faculty member’s academic field.
