Dr. Abdennour Seibi received his BS in Mechanical Engineering, MS and PhD from the Engineering Mechanics at Penn State University. He is a distinguished researcher in problems related to the oil & gas sectors, advanced materials, and applied mechanics. He has established international collaborations with various research labs and companies such as Shell Research Center, SEPTAR, in The Hague, the Institute of General Mechanics in Aachen, Germany, Laboratoire de Mechanique in Rouen, France, l'Ecole Polytechnique in Tunis, the University of Maryland, and Colorado School of Mines. He managed to attract more than 4 million US Dollars in research funding. His research focus includes the use of finite element analysis to solve engineering problems, experimental/numerical stress analysis, tubular expansion, fatigue and fracture mechanics, composite materials, and failure analysis of engineering materials. He provided valuable consultancy and research work to international companies on pipeline integrity, casing-formation interaction, structural behavior of GRE and HDPE materials in hydrocarbon applications, and tubular expansion for well rehabilitation. He has a very active career with the oil and gas sector and made several presentations worldwide to various companies and universities. He has published over 140 technical papers and 30 technical reports which earned him an international recognition from ASME and SPE by having six of his senior students winning best student paper awards. In addition, he participated in many committees in international conferences and a reviewer to ASME and SPE journals. He has established a Drillbotics club at UVU and is currently working on developing a "Materials, Mechanics, and Manufacturing (MMM) lab at UVU.
