Angela Banchero-Kelleher

Biography

Angela has had a professional career that has spanned over 25 years. She continues to perform, choreograph, and teach across the nation. Angela's research interests include Dance as a Vehicle for Social and Political Activism and Community Building Through Dance. Angela serves as the President of the Utah Academy of Sciences Arts and Letters and will be leading a workshop at the Bonderman Field Station/Rio Mesa with colleagues from the University of Utah exploring the capacity of movement to develop a deeper connection to nature.

Received award for Lacuna, a well funded project (GEL, Dean's Award, RDT in kind donation) that brought community partners_ (Repertory Dance Theatre, Ivan Weber/Sustain Utah Biosciences) UVU Departments (Dance-Angela Banchero-Kelleher, Amy Markgraf-Jacobsen, Nichole Ortega, Capitol Reef Field Station/Hau Troung, Dept of Anthropology) together to develop material for a piece, Lacuna, choreographed by Angela Banchero-Kelleher. This piece was performed by CDE at UVU and at RDT, Rose Wagner Center for the Performing Arts in SLC.
