Dr. Silvia Clark earned her Ph.D. in Human Resources and Organizational Behavior from the University of South Carolina. She joined the Woodbury School of Business in August 2022 and serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Organizational Leadership, teaching various courses in the Human Resources program. In addition to teaching, Dr. Clark serves on various committees, including the Woodbury School of Business Engagement Committee, the university’s Academic Calendar Committee, and the AoL Business Knowledge Committee.
Dr. Clark is also actively involved in research encompassing complex diversity issues that impact team dynamics. She examines how informal learning processes contribute to employee development and innovation and contributes to the academic community by regularly reviewing for the Academy of Management.
Before moving from Germany to the United States and venturing into the academic world, Dr. Silvia Clark established her expertise in management accounting. She held important roles, including Management Accountant at Tiger Toys Germany, where she specialized in cost management, budget analysis, and financial reporting to Tiger Toys US Headquarters.
As a Management Accountant at a large German bank, she was responsible for many critical activities. Her role encompassed not only traditional financial reporting and budgeting, but also regulatory reporting, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and she also played a key role in internal audits, working closely with audit teams to identify financial discrepancies.
