Biography
Bonnie Rodriguez Mortensen brings over a decade of experience in higher education, specializing in process improvement, program development, communications, and data analysis to develop and implement operational strategies. She spent seven years at the Woodbury School of Business and has been the Director of UVU Online since January 2024. Her diverse UVU career includes roles as Assistant Dean, Director of Marketing and Communications, Program Developer, and Project Coordinator for the Utah Women & Leadership Project.
Bonnie is a Certified Strengths Coach known for her passion for fostering collaboration, cultivating inclusive and engaging work environments, and designing innovative solutions to enhance outcomes for online programs. As a dedicated student, leader, and volunteer, she has been recognized with numerous awards, including the NAWBO Student of the Year, ACT College and Career Readiness Champion, and the Dean's Award of Excellence.
Her educational background reflects her commitment to lifelong learning. Bonnie holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications and Leadership, a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Leadership and Management, and a Master of Science in Management and Leadership. She was a member of the UVSELF 2023 cohort and the Institute for Emerging Leadership in Online Learning (IELOL) 2023 cohort.
Beyond her professional life, Bonnie is a devoted mother to four neurodiverse adult children, partner to her husband Ryan, and the proud daughter of a Marine. Bonnie is also dedicated to gratitude research, exploring its applications to leadership, productivity, and problem-solving.
