Biography

Like so many who pursue a career in student affairs, Marie was drawn to the field due to her involvement experiences as an undergrad at Salt Lake Community College and Utah State University. After returning to intern with the Student Life & Leadership staff for a year at SLCC, she took a role as the Coordinator for Student Activities at UVU, where she worked for ten years to grow her position to a Program Director level. She served for five years on the Executive Board for the Utah Professionals in Student Involvement and Leadership (UPSIL) including a term as UPSIL President. She graduated from Gonzaga University in 2017 earning her Master’s degree in Communications and Leadership.

In summer 2023 she was appointed to Assistant Director for Learning and Engagement in the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement, overseeing the Reflection Center and interfaith engagement, The Zone, and leadership certification..

Marie has been an active volunteer for the National Association of Campus Activities since 2015, serving in roles from the Volunteer Development Coordinator and West’s Regional Chair to a term on the NACA Employability Skills Assessment Advisory Group and Diversity Advisory Group. In 2018 she was awarded the Margaret Ann “Peggy” Hoffman Outstanding Regional Volunteer Award. Due to her unprecedented fundraising efforts for scholarships in the NACA West Region in 2020, 2021, and 2022, in 2023 she was appointed to the NACA Foundation Board of Trustees.
