Biography

Darryl began his career at Utah Valley University in 2005 as the Finance Manager of the Utah Fire & Rescue Academy (UFRA). In 2006 Darryl became an Assistant Director at UFRA and has managed Administration, Finance, IT, Logistics and Transportation. Darryl has over 40 years of experience working in private businesses in lumber, auto, furniture and tech industries. Darryl has won national advertising awards in these industries.

Darryl graduated from Utah Valley University with an Associate Degree in Accounting and was on the Dean's List while earning a Bachelor Degree in Information Systems with honors at the University of Utah. Darryl has consulted with Intuit to help improve their accounting software platform for businesses.

Darryl has served on PACE as a Senator from 2014-2016. Darryl was a Cohort to UVSELF in 2010-2011. Darryl has worked in the Boy Scouts of America for over 35 years, helping over 50 boys earn their eagle awards. Darryl served as Program Manager of the Utah Lake District organizing Klondike Derbies, Spring & Fall Camporees, and led the Utah District at the Utah Centennial Heritage Jamboral with over 8,000 scouts and leaders.

Darryl enjoys spending time with his wife Kathy, their five children and 12 grandchildren. He enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, horseback riding, the LA Dodgers, scuba and snorkeling. Darryl can be found at the baseball fields every year helping young men to learn and love the game of baseball as he coaches his grandson...Darryl is known as "Coach Papa" in Orem.
