Bob Allen is Dean of the Woodbury School of Business at Utah Valley University since January 2023. Prior to UVU, he was a Professor of Accounting at the University of Utah since July 1991. He served as President of the American Accounting Association (2021-2022). His research is published in various journals including The Accounting Review, Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory, Accounting Horizons, and Issues in Accounting Education. Bob is the recipient of the 2008 American Accounting Association/Deloitte Wildman Medal, for the research article published in the preceding 5-year period considered to make the greatest contribution to accounting practice. Bob is the 2018 recipient of the American Accounting Association/Michael J. and Mary Anne Cook/Deloitte Foundation Teaching Prize. The Cook teaching prize is the foremost recognition of an individual who consistently demonstrates the attributes of a superior teacher in the discipline of accounting. Bob cares deeply about UVU's mission to prepare students for meaningful careers in a complex business environment.
