Biography

My name is Melissa Davis, and I have been teaching at UVU for about 8 years. Because I was raised in Utah, I remember when UVU was actually a small community college called UVCC (yep, I am making myself sound old!).

I earned my undergraduate and graduate degrees in English from Utah State University and have been teaching both face-to-face and online courses for nearly 20 years. Although I have taught a wide variety of courses, my favorite courses to teach revolve around writing.

After living in Houston, Texas for 5 years, my family and I have settled in Utah because we love it here. In theory, we like to hike (if people are feeling agreeable), travel, and play bluegrass music together (also if people are feeling agreeable). I am a big fan of biking, cross-country skiing, baking, reading fiction, and playing the fiddle.
