Biography

Candice L. Brunger is an Associate Professor with Utah Valley University’s Department of Nursing. She completed her associate degree from Utah Valley State College in 1999. She began her nursing career in women’s and children’s health working in pediatrics, labor and delivery, mother baby, and NICU. After working for a few years, and gaining some experience, she obtained her BSN from Brigham Young University – Idaho. She started teaching prenatal education courses and found a new passion in education. She began teaching as an adjunct faculty member in January 2012 at Utah Valley University, and her love for nursing education grew. She continued with her education and completed her MSN in nursing education from Weber State University in 2014 and began teaching full time as an assistant professor at Utah Valley University in Fall of 2017 and achieved associate professor in 2023. She attended Idah State University where she received her DNP in May of 2024 and is excited to work as a family nurse practitioner. She has been involved heavily in helping students achieve their goals and coping with the rigorous demands of nursing school. Student success, safety and inclusion are top priorities and focus areas. She is married with 3 children and loves to go camping with her family.
