Biography

Dr David Ssejinja has been in education for 17 years, receiving his BA in bachelor?s degree in history and political science from Utah Valley University. He also earned two master?s degrees, from George Washington University and Lubbock Christian University and a doctoral degree from Ndejje University. His research interests include advising and teaching refugee migrant student leaders and working in educating African students about the values of education and servant leadership. Dr. Ssejinja is an expert in global issues related to international refugee migration and its impact on the social, cultural, and economic dynamics of societies. His main regional of interest is in Africa but, also looks beyond geographical and historical specificities for general lessons and perspectives. Dr Ssejinja has taught courses in HIST 151G - World History, HIST 3030 - Introduction to African history and SLSS 2100 Major and Career Explorations. His current research examines the Socio-Economic Reintegration of Migrant Worker Returnees Policy and Life Satisfaction of Ugandan Migrant Worker Returnees from Middle East. His publications have appeared in American Journal of Public Policy and Administration and American journal of Leadership and Governance. He currently works as a Coordinator for Utah Valley University Student Success First-Year Experience department. Dr Ssejinja works tirelessly to help disadvantaged students get an American education, as evidenced by the charities he founded; the Ssejinja Children?s Foundation and the American Leadership Class
