Kelsey primarily teaches first year writing courses, focusing on helping students from diverse backgrounds build confidence in writing. In addition to her teaching duties, Kelsey is the Director of the Writing Enriched program, facilitates OTL's Writing Pedagogy Workshops, and enjoys collaborative research with undergraduates and colleagues alike . She has served as co-chair of the International Writing Center's Summer Institute 2019 and 2021 and regularly presents at conferences such as the International Writing Center Association Conference, Conference on College Composition and Communication, and National Conference on Peer Tutoring in Writing. She has been published in _Writing Center Journal_, _Praxis: A Writing Center Journal_ and _How We Teach Writing Tutors: A WLN Digital Edited Collection_. Kelsey’s scholarship explores the ecosystem of writing education, including transfer of learning, writing center studies, writing in the disciplines, as well as the social, emotional, and cognitive factors of learning to write. Kelsey earned her PhD in Composition and Applied Linguistics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and holds Masters and Bachelors degrees in English from Kansas State University.
